CIU Fall Webinar - Save the Date

PRESENTATION OVERVIEW:


This presentation will outline various behavioural addictions; their prevalence, concurrent complexities, susceptibility, and personal/societal impacts. By the end of the presentation underwriters will have a better understanding of what behavioural addictions are, their consequences, and how they impact mortality and morbidity.


DR. ASH BENDER:


Dr. Bender is an Occupational Psychiatrist and Assistant Professor with the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. At CAMH, he is a staff psychiatrist and former Medical Head of the Work, Stress and Health Program, which is a multidisciplinary program specializing in the assessment, treatment, and research of psychological injury. He has several publications in the area of workplace mental health and continues to provide expertise and training to improve the management of mental health and addiction at work.


Dr. Bender is a psychiatric consultant to RBC Insurance and has performed numerous independent evaluations for worker’s compensation, private insurers, employers, regulatory bodies, and the courts. Clinically, Dr. Bender works with forensic populations part-time at the Toronto South Detention Centre.
